IAP Device Server
The Digi One IAP
device server allows Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs),
motors, drives, bar-code readers, operator displays or any
industrial device with a serial port to be easily connected to
the Ethernet. The Digi One IAP delivers the functionality
specifically required by industrial applications, including DIN
Rail mounting, device sharing, IA protocol support, Class 1 Div2
rating, industry leading low latency, and many more.
The IAP expands
the capabilities of the IA in offering multimaster/multi-protocol,
an industry first. This protocol is the most flexible,
powerful, and innovative way to manage industrial serial devices
from more than one host machine or location regardless of the
industrial serial protocol that is native to the serial device.
Simply put, multi-mastering allows a slave serial device using
any of the supported serial port protocols to be managed from
multiple host machines. A variety of serial port
protocols, including Modbus ASCII/RTU, DF1 Full/Half-Duplex,
compoway/F, FINS, and Hostlink are supported. In addition,
virtually any industrial serial protocol is supported when using
RealPort® software or user-defined protocol.
Latency test
results have shown the Digi One IAP family to be the
industry leader in
low latency
when converting serial to Ethernet.
